About the Experience
What is the Mount Druid Christmas Express?
A story - driven festive journey at Mount Druid, Castletown Geoghegan. Start with a woodland tram ride, explore Elven Wood, attend Elf Academy, become a qualified elf, post a letter at the Magic Post Box, visit the Sleigh Port, and finish with a timed visit to Santa’s Village and grotto.
How long should we allow?
Around 90 minutes from your slot time.

Dates, Times & Slots
When is it on?
Thursday 27 Nov – Tuesday 23 Dec (selected evenings and weekends as per booking calendar).
How do the time slots work?
Tickets are sold in 30-minute slots. The tram departs every 15 minutes and leaves the site once your experience is finished every 30 minutes.
What if we’re running late?
We’ll do our best to accommodate you in the next available slot on the same day, subject to capacity.

- Adult (13+): €19.95
- Child (24 months–12 years): €29.95
- 1 Year Old (12 months – 23 months) €14.95
- Baby (0–12 months): Free
- Family Deal (2 adults + 2 children): €89.95
- Carer: Free (Visitors with additional needs may bring one accompanying carer free of charge.)
- Wheelchair User: €24.95
Tickets per slot are limited due to available wheelchair space on the train
Do babies need a ticket?
Yes. Tickets for babies (0 - 12 months) are free and included in capacity counts so please book a ticket for a baby.

How do I book?
All tickets must be pre-booked online. Choose your date and 30-minute slot from the calendar.
Can I change my booking?
No changes or refunds are available on tickets once purchased (except in extreme circumstances).
What’s your refund policy?
Tickets are non-refundable once purchased.

Accessibility & Special Requirements
Is it wheelchair accessible?
Most areas are accessible; some paths are gravel/uneven. Tickets per slot are limited due to wheelchair spaces on the train
Can a carer attend for free?
Yes—one carer free per guest with additional needs (please bring relevant ID if requested).
Buggies/Prams?
For safety reasons, buggies and prams cannot be taken onto the tram. A secure holding area is available after entry where they may be left for the duration of your visit.
Sensory considerations
There will be loud music, strobe lighting effects and snow machines.
Photos & Add-Ons
Will we meet Santa and get a photo?
Yes—every family has a timed Santa visit. Families are welcome to take their own photos, with the option to purchase a magical memories media package - a personalised digital keepsake.
Food & Drink
Is there food and drink?
Yes—festive pizza slices, other hot food, refreshments and more will be available at the Boathouse and outdoor huts. Card payments only. Available to purchase separately.
Weather & What to Wear
Does it go ahead in bad weather?
We operate in most conditions. If a severe weather warning forces closure or schedule changes, we’ll contact you by email with options.
What should we wear?
Wrap up warm and wear weatherproof footwear. Many areas are outdoors or semi-covered.

When should we arrive?
Please arrive 10 minutes before your slot for check-in.

Ample parking is available in the village and surrounding areas.
Toilets & baby change
Available at key points on the route, including Santa’s Square.
